Full description

Unlock the secrets of authentic New Orleans cooking with this hands-on roux cooking class. Dive into the heart of Cajun and Creole cuisine, starting with the fundamentals—making a roux. You'll learn the importance of the Cajun Holy Trinity (onions, celery, and bell peppers) as you chop, prep, and craft incredible dishes. Once everything is ready, it’s time to make two types of roux: a dark roux for gumbo and a light roux for shrimp étouffée. Throughout the class, you'll be guided through the steps, learning the tips and tricks that make New Orleans cuisine so beloved.

After preparing your dishes, sit down and savor your creations, from the hearty Chicken and Andouille Sausage Gumbo to the rich Shrimp Étouffée. To finish, you'll learn how to make the iconic dessert, Bananas Foster—perfect for impressing friends and family at your next gathering. Wine, beer, and other beverages are provided to keep the experience fun and relaxed. Whether you're a seasoned cook or a kitchen novice, this class offers a delicious taste of New Orleans' rich culinary heritage.
