This two-hour adventure begins at picturesque Polo Beach, where you’ll step into the past by learning about the history, construction, and navigation of Hawaiian sailing canoes. Then, feel the excitement as the handcrafted outrigger canoe "Hina" launches directly from the sand, just as the Hawaiians did generations ago. Glide across the gentle Wailea breeze, soaking in stunning views of Maui from the water.

The journey doesn’t stop at sailing—dive into the crystal-clear ocean to snorkel with sea turtles and marvel at vibrant marine life. During whale season, keep your eyes peeled for awe-inspiring sightings of these gentle giants. With juice, water, and all snorkel gear provided, this is the perfect balance of relaxation, cultural immersion, and aquatic adventure. Don't forget to pack your reef-safe sunscreen, sunglasses, and waterproof camera to capture unforgettable memories of your time on the water!

  • Health limitations: Participants should be in good health and comfortable in and around water.
  • Physical limitations: Must be able to board the canoe from the beach and participate in light paddling activities.
  • Experience level: All levels are welcome, including beginners.

  • Children: Suitable for children aged 4 and above. All participants must have a ticket.
  • Individuals with disabilities: The experience is not wheelchair accessible.
  • Dietary restrictions: Not applicable, as food is not served.
  • Languages: Tours are conducted in English.
  • Pets: Pets are not allowed.

What to expect on the day of the experience?

  • Who will be present: Guided by experienced crew members. The tour accommodates a maximum of 8 participants. A minimum of 2 participants is required for the tour to proceed.
  • Spectators: Spectators are not allowed. All attendees must participate.
  • Photo/video: Guests may bring cameras for photos or videos. Waterproof cameras are recommended.
  • Specific rules to follow: Smoking is not allowed. Follow instructions provided by the crew for safety.

How to prepare?

  • Weather dependency: This is an outdoor activity that runs rain or shine. Severe weather may result in rescheduling or cancellation with options for refund or rescheduling.
  • Arrival: Plan to arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled start time at Polo Beach in Wailea, Maui.
  • Parking: Parking is available near Polo Beach. Specific details are provided upon booking.
  • What to wear: Swimwear and sun-protective clothing such as a hat and sunglasses.
  • What to bring:
    • Reef-safe sunscreen
    • Waterproof camera (optional)
    • Towel
    • A light jacket for cooler mornings
  • Restrooms/lockers/changing rooms: A lockbox is available on the beach for storing small personal items like keys or wallets.

Returns, exchanges and cancellation

Unused Experience Vouchers can be returned within 30 days for a full refund to the original purchaser, no questions asked.

If you have any unused Experience Vouchers, you can exchange them for anything else in our marketplace, no matter when. If you choose an experience that's more expensive, you'll need to pay the difference, but if you choose one that costs less, you'll receive a credit towards your next booking.

No refunds are allowed once the experience is booked, but you can reschedule up to 24 hours before your experience, for a date within a year of the original booking. To reschedule, contact the experience provider directly. No-shows or rescheduling less than 24 hours in advance means losing the value of your experience.
