Catch the golden hour from horseback as you ride along the southern slopes of Oahu’s Wai‘anae Mountains. This 60–90 minute sunset trail ride is designed for both seasoned equestrians and total beginners, offering a calm, scenic ride through exclusive terrain not open to the public. Along the way, you’ll take in sweeping views of Oahu’s western and southern coastline and pause for a photo op to capture the moment just as the sun dips low.

The ride is fully guided and uses experienced polo ponies known for their gentle nature. You'll start with a safety demo, get matched to a horse, and set out with your group (up to 8 riders max) for a peaceful journey through some of the island’s most untouched landscape. The experience wraps with a chance to feed your horse a treat and snap a few more photos. It’s a laid-back, memorable way to end a day on Oahu.

• Weight: Maximum weight allowed is 230 lbs. Guests may be weighed on-site to confirm eligibility
• Health limitations: Not suitable for pregnant individuals
• Physical limitations: Not recommended for those who cannot mount a horse or ride for extended periods
• Experience level: All levels are welcome; the ride is at a walking pace only for safety

What to expect on the day of the experience?

• Duration: Rides last between 60–90 minutes. Tour may go slightly longer based on participant engagement and trail pace

• Spectators: Not permitted on the trail; all participants must be riding guests
• Photo/ video: Bring your phone or camera for a designated photo stop; guides will assist with capturing your memories
• Specific rules to follow: Helmets are mandatory and provided. No trotting or cantering permitted due to rocky terrain

How to prepare?

• Weather dependency: Rain or shine, the ride will continue unless safety is impacted
• Arrival: Plan to arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled ride for check-in and safety briefing. Do not arrive more than 45 minutes early
• Parking: Free parking available at 1 Palehua Rd, Kapolei, HI 96707. Use code 290 at the restricted gate to enter
• What to wear: Closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothing. No backpacks or purses
• What to bring: Phone, camera, water. Personal items must fit in a saddle bag—provided on site
• Restrooms/ lockers/ changing rooms: Restrooms available; no lockers or changing rooms

Anything else I should know before going on this experience?

• Waivers must be signed at check-in
• If weight is in question, staff reserves the right to weigh guests and cancel the ride without refund if over the 230 lb limit
• Uber service may not be reliable for pick-up; rideshare drivers must be able to wait or you may be without transportation after the tour

Unused Experience Vouchers can be returned within 14 days for a full refund to the original purchaser, no questions asked.

If you have any unused Experience Vouchers, you can exchange them for anything else in our marketplace, no matter when. If you choose an experience that's more expensive, you'll need to pay the difference, but if you choose one that costs less, you'll receive a credit towards your next booking.

No refunds are allowed once the experience is booked, but you can reschedule up to 48 hours before your experience, for a date within a year of the original booking. To reschedule, contact the experience provider directly. No-shows or rescheduling less than 48 hours in advance means losing the value of your experience.
