Embark on a whale watching adventure aboard Monterey Bay's largest vessels, "The Princess Monterey" and "The Atlantis Monterey," equipped for comfort with heated cabins and snack bars. Princess Monterey Whale Watching, with over 30 years of experience, offers narrated tours focusing on the marine wildlife of Monterey Bay, home to the third largest submarine canyon in the world. This setting provides a unique opportunity to observe a diverse range of marine life up close. During the 2.5 to 3-hour tours, you might see gray whale migrations, blue and humpback whales, dolphins, porpoises, and other marine animals. Each journey is a chance to experience Monterey Bay's marine life in its natural habitat, although sightings cannot be guaranteed.

  • Health limitations: Not suitable for pregnant women.
  • Experience level: Suitable for all levels, from beginners to advanced golfers.

Who can you accommodate for?

  • Children: Children under 3 years old are not allowed.
  • Individuals with disabilities: Unfortunately, the boats are not wheelchair accessible due to safety concerns.
  • Pets: Sorry, no pets allowed, except for service animals.

What to expect on the day of the experience?

  • Duration: 2.5 to 3 hours, fully narrated tour.
  • What’s included:
    • Heated cabin

    • Spacious seating
  • Who will be present: You will be accompanied by a seasoned guide specializing in marine wildlife. Other passengers will also be on the cruise.
  • Spectators: No spectators allowed; all attendees must have a ticket.
  • Photo/video: Guests are encouraged to take photos to capture their experience.

How to prepare?

  • Weather dependency: Cruises proceed in light rain and moderate weather conditions. Severe weather may lead to cancellation.
  • Arrival: Please arrive 45 minutes before your scheduled departure to check in.
  • Parking: Parking information will be provided after ticket purchase.
  • What to wear: Dress in warm layers, wear long pants, and a windproof jacket. Bring a wide-brimmed hat or cap, and flat-soled shoes.
  • What to bring:
    • Cameras are highly recommended.
    • Guests can bring their own food and non-alcoholic beverages.
    • Alcoholic drinks available for purchase; no outside alcohol allowed.
  • Restrooms/lockers/changing rooms: Boats are equipped with restrooms. No lockers or changing rooms available.

Unused Experience Vouchers can be returned within 30 days for a full refund to the original purchaser, no questions asked.
