This dynamic excursion combines two iconic districts, offering an immersive experience that celebrates LGBTQ+ culture, architectural treasures, and the city's diverse history.

Your journey begins amidst the rainbow flags and inviting terraces of the Castro District, where you'll cruise through a neighborhood that played a pivotal role in LGBTQ+ history. Marvel at the ornate Castro Theatre, a historic movie palace that has been entertaining audiences since 1922. Don't forget to snap a photo at the famous rainbow crosswalks at Castro and 18th streets.

Venturing into the Mission District, you'll encounter a neighborhood steeped in Latin roots, vibrant murals, and a thriving nightlife. Explore Clarion Alley, a narrow lane adorned with colorful street art, and stroll down trendy Valencia Street, known for its unique shops, restaurants, and cafes. Discover the Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts, a hub for celebrating Latino culture, and sample delicious tacos and burritos at Taqueria Cancun and La Taqueria, where the famous Mission burrito originated.

Your tour includes a visit to Mission Dolores, the city's oldest surviving building and namesake of the Mission District. As you walk through picturesque Dolores Park, spot Victorian houses and lively craft vendors, soaking in the essence of San Francisco living!

Any restrictions to participate?

  • Age: All age groups are welcome
  • Physical limitations: Participants must be able to walk 3.4 miles on the tour.

Who can you accommodate for?

  • Children: Tours are recommended for children 10 years and older, however younger children are allowed to join. A stroller is recommended for younger children given the distance walked on the tour. Children 3 years and older are required to have a ticket, and all children should be noted at the time of booking. 
  • Individuals with disabilities: This tour is not wheelchair accessible. Service animals are allowed. 
  • Pets: Sorry, no pets allowed.

What to expect on the day of the experience?

  • Duration: 3 hours
  • What’s included: Guided walking tour with a local historian. Snacks along the tour are not included, but are available for purchase.
  • Who will be present: You will have a guide with you at all times and up to 8 tour participants.
  • Spectators: No spectators are allowed, everyone must have a ticket.
  • Photo/ video: Photos are encouraged!

 

How to prepare?

  • Weather dependency: The experience will run rain or shine. If you have any concerns about the weather, please reach out to your tour guide directly. 
  • Arrival: Plan to arrive 10 minutes in advance.
  • Parking: Street parking or a paid parking lot will be available near the meeting location.
  • Ending location: The tour is a loop and will end at the same location as the starting point.
  • What to wear: Good walking shoes and clothing appropriate for the weather.
  • What to bring: A water bottle and money to purchase local bites along the tour.
  • Restrooms: Restrooms will be available at some of the tour stops.

 

Returns, exchanges and cancellation

Unused Experience Vouchers can be returned within 30 days for a full refund to the original purchaser, no questions asked.

If you have any unused Experience Vouchers, you can exchange them for anything else in our marketplace, no matter when. If you choose an experience that's more expensive, you'll need to pay the difference, but if you choose one that costs less, you'll receive a credit towards your next booking.

No refunds are allowed once the experience is booked, but you can reschedule up to 24 hours before your experience, for a date within a year of the original booking. To reschedule, contact the experience provider directly. No-shows or rescheduling less than 24 hours in advance means losing the value of your experience.
