Get ready to embark on an adventure-filled day with our Bike and Boat package! You'll start your day with a scenic bike ride from Old Town Alexandria up to the historic Mount Vernon Estate, which was once home to George Washington, the first President of the United States. Once you arrive, you can take your time exploring the 18th-century mansion, well-kept gardens, stables, and much more. And don't worry about carrying your bike around with you; our team will take care of it for you while you enjoy the Mount Vernon activities.

After a morning of exploring, it's time to relax and enjoy the afternoon on a narrated riverboat cruise back to Old Town with the Potomac Riverboat Company by Hornblower. As you take in the stunning views of the Potomac River, you'll learn about the rich history of the area and see some of the famous landmarks that make this part of the country so special.

Any restrictions to participate?

  • Age: All age groups are welcome, as long as everyone is able to ride a bike on their own.
  • Experience level: All guests must be able to ride their own bike.

Who can you accommodate for?

  • Children: All participants must pay to participate, children included.
  • Individuals with disabilities: Unfortunately, this experience is not ADA accessible.
  • Languages: The tour will be given in English.
  • Pets: Sorry, no pets allowed.

What to expect on the day of the experience?

  • Duration: 5 Hours
  • What’s included:
    • Mount Vernon Estate ticket
    • Bike Rental
    • Helmet
    • Bike Bag
    • Mount Vernon Boat ticket
  • Who will be present: You will have a guide with you at all times; also, other guests may be joining.
  • Spectators: No spectators are allowed, everyone must have a ticket/reservations.
  • Photo/ video: You may take your own photos.
  • Specific rules to follow: Attachments such as double trailers and tag-a-long bikes are not permitted on the tour for the safety reasons. No customer under the age of 18 will be given a bike without an adult over the age of 18 present.

How to prepare?

  • Weather dependency: Rain or shine, the experience will be running.
  • Arrival: Plan to arrive 15 minutes in advance
  • Parking: Parking may be available in the area.
  • What to wear: Clothes and shoes you can easily bike in.
  • What to bring: Passport or ID card and a credit card
  • Restrooms/ lockers/ changing rooms: Please use any facilities before the tour begins.

Returns, exchanges and cancellation

Unused Experience Vouchers can be returned within 30 days for a full refund to the original purchaser, no questions asked.

If you have any unused Experience Vouchers, you can exchange them for anything else in our marketplace, no matter when. If you choose an experience that's more expensive, you'll need to pay the difference, but if you choose one that costs less, you'll receive a credit towards your next booking.

No refunds are allowed once the experience is booked, but you can reschedule up to 24 hours before your experience, for a date within a year of the original booking. To reschedule, contact the experience provider directly. No-shows or rescheduling less than 24 hours in advance means losing the value of your experience.
