Led by professional architectural photographer E. David Luria, this hands-on workshop will guide you through essential photography techniques like F-stops, shutter speeds, and composition, all while visiting some of DC’s most famous sites. From the White House to the Lincoln Memorial and Union Station, you’ll learn how to get the most out of your camera and take stunning photos of both landscapes and cityscapes.

Perfect for beginners and experienced photographers alike, this session takes place entirely in the field, so you’ll practice in real-time while soaking in DC’s incredible monuments. With small group sizes and expert guidance, you’ll leave the workshop with practical photography skills and a collection of breathtaking shots from your day. Plus, you’ll receive a 130-page eBook full of tips and tricks to continue your photography journey.

Age: All age groups are welcome.
Health limitations: Participants should be able to walk for the duration of the 3.5-hour tour.
Physical limitations: Must be able to walk and stand during the tour.
Experience level: All levels are welcome, from beginners to advanced photographers.

Who can you accommodate for?

Children: All participants must pay to participate, children included.
Languages: Instruction is provided in English.
Pets: Sorry, no pets allowed.

What to expect on the day of the experience?

Duration: 3.5 hours.
What’s included: Photography instruction, on-location practice, and a downloadable eBook on photography tips.
Who will be present: The tour will be led by professional architectural photographer E. David Luria. Other guests may join, with a small group size.
Spectators: Spectators are not allowed; everyone must have a reservation.
Photo/ video: You may take your own photos during the tour. Instruction will be provided on photography techniques.
Specific rules to follow: No smoking is allowed during the tour.

How to prepare?

Weather dependency: This tour runs rain or shine. If heavy rain occurs, covered locations will be visited.
Arrival: Plan to arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled tour time.
Parking: Not specified; participants should make arrangements for parking near the meeting point at the Renwick Gallery.
What to wear: Wear comfortable walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing.
What to bring:
- Bring all camera equipment, including any lenses you might want to use.
- Extra charged battery
- Water bottle
- Umbrella for rainy days
Restrooms/ lockers/ changing rooms: No changing rooms available, but there will be opportunities for bathroom breaks at certain stops.

Participants will be responsible for their own lunch at Union Station.
