This four-hour self-guided tour allows ample time to paddle at your own pace, exploring the vibrant coral reefs and abundant marine life of Kaneohe Bay. Start the journey from the conveniently located storefront in Kailua, where all necessary kayaking equipment, including roof pads and straps for easy transport, is provided. Directions to the launch point, a mere 20-minute drive away, ensure a smooth start to an unforgettable day on the water.

The calm waters of Kaneohe Bay make this an ideal outing for both beginners and experienced kayakers alike. The best conditions are typically in the morning when the wind is gentle and the water is serene. Paddle out to the nearby coral reefs, accessible within just 15 minutes, and immerse yourself in the underwater beauty. Whether choosing to snorkel among the fishes or simply enjoying the scenic views from above the water, this kayaking adventure offers a unique opportunity to witness Oahu’s aquatic wonders firsthand.

Any restrictions to participate?

  • Age: All age groups are welcome.
  • Experience level: The tour is good for beginners, but participants should be comfortable with kayaking and swimming in ocean conditions.

Who can you accommodate for?

  • Children: All participants must pay to participate, children included. Recommended for those who can actively participate in kayaking and snorkeling.
  • Individuals with disabilities: Due to the physical nature of kayaking and snorkeling, this experience may not be suitable for individuals with certain disabilities.
  • Pets: Sorry, no pets allowed.

What to expect on the day of the experience?

  • Duration: 4 hours.
  • What’s included: Kayak rental, roof pads and straps for transport, life jackets, seatbacks, paddles, a kayak leash, and a 15L dry bag. Snorkeling gear is also provided.
  • Who will be present: You will meet our team at the storefront for equipment and instructions, but the tour itself is self-guided.
  • Photo/ video: You may take your own photos. The scenic views and marine life offer great photo opportunities.
  • Specific rules to follow: Respect the local environment by not touching the coral reefs, pack out all trash, and follow all safety guidelines provided during the briefing.

How to prepare?

  • Weather dependency: The experience is best enjoyed in good weather conditions, usually in the mornings when the water is calmest.
  • Arrival: Please arrive 15 minutes before your booking time to allow for equipment setup and briefing.
  • Parking: Directions and parking information will be provided upon equipment pickup.
  • What to wear: Swimsuit, reef-safe sunscreen, and water shoes or athletic shoes that can get wet.
  • What to bring:
    • Essential: Water, snacks (be sure to pack out all trash), camera or phone in a waterproof case.
    • What’s allowed: Personal items that can fit securely in the provided dry bag.
    • What’s not allowed: Avoid bringing unnecessary valuables as space is limited and focus on waterproof or water-resistant items.

Anything else I should know before going on this experience?

  • Be mindful of the environment, especially the coral reefs which are sensitive and can be damaged easily. Using the provided floating kayak leash instead of anchors will help prevent damage to the reef. Always keep a safe distance from coral to avoid injury and reef damage.

Returns, exchanges and cancellation

Unused Experience Vouchers can be returned within 30 days for a full refund to the original purchaser, no questions asked.

If you have any unused Experience Vouchers, you can exchange them for anything else in our marketplace, no matter when. If you choose an experience that's more expensive, you'll need to pay the difference, but if you choose one that costs less, you'll receive a credit towards your next booking.

No refunds are allowed once the experience is booked, but you can reschedule up to 48 hours before your experience, for a date within a year of the original booking. To reschedule, contact the experience provider directly. No-shows or rescheduling less than 48 hours in advance means losing the value of your experience.
