This balloon flight is located just outside the picturesque city of Boulder, nestled at the foot of the Rocky Mountains. It's conveniently situated 30 minutes northwest of Denver and 30 minutes southeast of Estes Park. Offering year-round flights, you'll be treated to ever-changing vistas of mountain ranges and vast rolling plains.

Practical information

Any restrictions to participate?

  • Age: 5+ years old
  • Weight: Individual weight cannot exceed 275 pounds.
  • Health limitations: Not advised for expectant mothers.
  • Physical limitations: Need to be able to climb into the basket of the balloon.

 

Who can you accommodate for?

  • Children: It is recommended that participants are at least 5 years old and comfortable standing in the basket for 1-1.5 hours. Children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
  • Individuals with disabilities: The basket of the balloon is not wheelchair accessible, however the experience provider is always happy to talk to participants interested in flying to see if they can join comfortably without a wheelchair. 
  • Pets: Sorry, no pets allowed.

What to expect on the day of the experience?

  • Duration: 3-3.5 hours including 1-1.5 hours of flight time
  • What’s included: Each flight comes with a parting gift bag including champagne or sparkling cider, official hot air balloon t-shirt and pin, plus a frameable flight certificate with personalized photo.
  • Who will be present: You will have an experienced FAA certified pilot with you at all times as well as 8-10 participants in the basket.
  • Spectators: Family members and friends are welcome to participate in the inflation and deflation of the balloon, and follow the chase vehicle while the balloons are flying. 
  • Photo/ video: Photos and video are encouraged!
  • Specific rules to follow: There is no smoking allowed in or around the balloon.

 

How to prepare?

  • Weather dependency: This experience is very weather dependent. Your pilot will provide you with a contact number to call/text the afternoon before your flight to check on the weather conditions for the following morning. In the case of unfavorable weather conditions the experience provider will work with you to reschedule to another date. If you have any questions about the weather, always contact the experience provider directly.
  • Arrival: Plan to arrive 15 minutes in advance
  • Parking: There is parking available at the meeting location. 
  • What to wear: Because of Colorado’s varying temperatures, it is recommended to dress in layers. Dress casual and comfortable, wearing sneakers or low-heeled shoes. For taller participants, a light hat is suggested. 
  • What to bring:
    • A camera
    • Gratuity for your pilot and crew is greatly appreciated if you enjoy the experience. Suggested gratuity is $40 per person.

     

  • Restrooms: It is recommended to use the restroom prior to the experience.

 

Anything else I should know before going on this experience?

  • All participants must sign a waiver.

Returns, exchanges and cancellation

Unused Experience Vouchers can be returned within 30 days for a full refund to the original purchaser, no questions asked.

If you have any unused Experience Vouchers, you can exchange them for anything else in our marketplace, no matter when. If you choose an experience that's more expensive, you'll need to pay the difference, but if you choose one that costs less, you'll receive a credit towards your next booking.

No refunds are allowed once the experience is booked, but you can reschedule up to one week before your experience, for a date within a year of the original booking. To reschedule, contact the experience provider directly. No-shows or rescheduling less than one week in advance means losing the value of your experience.
