This experience caters to both novice foragers and seasoned mushroom enthusiasts. Let an expert guide lead you to prime spots, eliminating guesswork and ensuring a successful harvest. To enhance the experience, you'll enjoy a hot gourmet lunch right in the heart of the woods, turning your foraging expedition into a culinary delight served on porcelain with silverware and cloth napkins. While no one can predict the exact mushroom jackpots, a 95% success rate guarantees a memorable adventure, with the potential to bring home tons of mushrooms!

Any restrictions to participate?

  • Age: All age groups are welcome.
  • Physical limitations: You will need to be comfortable on your feet for 4 hours outdoors.
  • Experience level: All levels are welcome.

Who can you accommodate for?

  • Children: All participants must pay to participate, children included.
  • Individuals with disabilities: Unfortunately, this experience is not wheelchair accessible.
  • Dietary restrictions: The partner can accommodate most restrictions including: vegetarian, seafood or shellfish allergy, and gluten-free., but cannot accommodate last minute changes given the complexity and limitations of being in the great outdoors. 
  • Pets: Sorry, no pets allowed.

What to expect on the day of the experience?

  • Duration: 4 hours
  • What’s included: 
    • 2-course hot gourmet lunch, snacks, hot beverages, and water
    • All foraging-related supplies (basket, mushroom knife, nitrile gloves, reference book, and hand warmers)
    • 18% gratuity for your guide
  • Who will be present: You will have a guide/teacher with you at all times; also, other guests may be joining (up to 16 people).
  • Spectators: No spectators are allowed, everyone must have a ticket/reservations.
  • Photo/ video: You may take your own photos.
  • Specific rules to follow: Not allowed to smoke, need to follow the guide’s rules, no alcohol or substances

How to prepare?

  • Weather dependency: Light rain or shine, the experience will be running.
  • Arrival: Plan to arrive 15 minutes in advance.
  • Parking: You may park your car at the meeting point.
  • What to wear: It is recommended to dress for the weather. Specifically, a rain jacket, hat, gloves, and hiking boots are strongly recommended.
  • What to bring: 
    • A small backpack and water bottle
    • In your confirmation email, the partner will send you a full packing list
  • Restrooms/ lockers/ changing rooms: Sorry, no restrooms at the trailhead. Make sure to take care of business beforehand or bring your own supplies if you need to go au naturel!

Anything else I should know before going on this experience? 

  • An SUV, AWD, and/or high-clearance vehicle is strongly recommended for navigating the last 3 miles of unpaved forest roads during wet and sometimes snowy conditions in November. Consider carpooling with others upon arrival to the rendezvous point in downtown Randle, WA.
  • Download offline maps and a GPS tracking app (e.g. Strava, Gaia, AllTrails) beforehand.

Returns, exchanges and cancellation

Unused Experience Vouchers can be returned within 30 days for a full refund to the original purchaser, no questions asked.

If you have any unused Experience Vouchers, you can exchange them for anything else in our marketplace, no matter when. If you choose an experience that's more expensive, you'll need to pay the difference, but if you choose one that costs less, you'll receive a credit towards your next booking.
